Could the ATX have a shift kit? My fps ATX shifts so hard into second
that the tires break loose.

The hard 1-2 shift is pretty normal for this automatic. I am surprised
that
it has a rebuilt engine at such a low mileage? The transmission is much
more
trouble prone? Any history on the tranny? What does the fluid look like
in
the tranny? Be sure and check the codes before buying the car. It's real
easy to do and the FAQ has the instructions.

The P/S fluid has probably never been changed. Check it and see how
black
it is. The 95 has VAPS which as it ages tends to develop this. Repeated
fluid flushing should reduce or eliminate this. Some people have had
good
luck with the Lucas brand of P/S conditioner.
