Then you should hear mine Ian, catless Y, no res, out to the stock mufflers.
It's a V6 it sounds like shit no matter what exhaust you have on it, so why
not make it intolerable?

My answer: yes

As far as sound, it's all preference. I dislike the
flowmaster and dynomax sound on a gen1/2. I feel that
it is too raspy. This is a common trait with most
chambered mufflers.

I always recommend borla or magnaflow mufflers. They
are essentially the same construction but the
magnaflows are usually a lot cheaper. If you buy
Borla, you are usually paying for the name. They are
good stuff but Magnaflow tends to be comparable in
their stainless packed muffler lineup.
