I don't even think then! There have been several times where I have put a
cold running hose on a hot engine/exhaust and no warping or cracking.

I view it as spitting on a hot stove. The heat mass is much greater than the
liquid being put on (in) it.......you just can't pour oil that fast!!
Now, dumping 10 gallons of near-frozen water on a hot engine....then maybe!!

Ron,
Your 100% incorrect this will happen. But the conditions have to be
right.......Kinda like a perfect storm. The block would have to be glowing
cherry red. And the could happen if it had NO fluids in it and you took it
for a spin around lets say the Sun. Then stopped by the local parts store in
Alaska where the oil is very cold. then did the oil change before the engine
could cool down. Then I could see this as an actual event.
By the way who is the asshole that's gonna change the oil with the engine
hot? Ever had to do this? I have drag racing years ago I put some debris in
the filter and had to spin it off second degree burns on my hand. So Ron you
may be right but If the conditions are just as I layed out she might be
right.
Dave. Just got home from work and the sarcasim machine is in overdrive.

2. Oil put in was "off the store shelf" cold into a very hot engine, may
cause fracture in block.
