...or at least protect them with thicker oil and/or STP.  I use 10-40 and STP in the
Lowrider...everyone knows that already!!

The reasoning for doing so is...even though the rod bearings are new, the rest of
the engine is not, and it makes a LOT of noise when it starts cold with thinner oil.
 The thicker oil quiets down the timing chain tensioners and keeps things protected
better.  On subsequent starts during the day, it sounds like a new engine.  I still
get in the mid 20s for MPG in the commute mode.

...only 25,500 miles to go....that's about 10 months....right on time with the
planned retirement!!  (for BOTH of us)   ;-)
