I have a Saturn and don't baby that either. Redline shift at least 1-2 and
2-3 every day. Can't remember what it is, 6000 or 6500.
The redline on my TDI is 4700 RPM and it see it on just about all 1-2
shifts.

On another note.....never over 5,500? Sell the SHO, you wuss, and buy a
Saturn!!!
My '89 SHO saw the 7K rev limit AT LEAST 4x a day.....and usually more
often. I did very smoky burnouts, ran the strip, and generally drove it like
any other crazy 40-year-old would do!!
Once I got past the original small clutch that died at 32K, the 9.75" clutch
lasted near 80K miles (the next small clutch was still fine with about 20K
miles when the Ford recall replaced it with the 9.75" clutch & flywheel). I
sold the car with 182K miles, and it still ran 14.8 @ 96 with the Bolt-On
Stage kit. The diff pins finally dies for the new owner at about 195K. The
HiRevs Jr. that I had installed after the Ford clutch died lasted for
another 60K miles.
I have had three MTX SHOs, and they all go to 7K on a very regular basis. If
you don't do that, you don't understand what SHOs are all about.
If you don't wind the SHO to over at least over 6K when you jump on it, you
have no clue as to what the car is about!!

To All Those Hi-Milage/no-spun bearing/ Memebers;
I would like to hear about the driving habits that all you fortunate
SHO-GOS have. What's your 1 - 2 shift rpm, do you shift from 1 - 3rd, you
know
what I'm talking about. Depending on how I feel, I take my SHO thru all
the
paces...never over 5500 or so, but rarely. Do you shift to 2nd to get on
the
freeway, or 3rd? I'm not afraid of doing a bearing job cuz I have to
replace
the Y-pipe anyways. So all you 150k plus SHOMEN and LADIES, step up to the
plate and be heard!
Robert K '89 130K OEM ( except the owner, ha!)
Thank You Marlene ! ! ! and all the rest of you very much!.
