I'll have to admit that I have not had to do this with the SHO engine but I have replaced main bearings in other engines without too much trouble.
Most bearings have a locator tab on one end. After you pull the main cap the upper half of the bearing will usually rotate out fairly easily, tab end first. In fact you can put your new bearing half on the bottom of the crank and rotate it to push the old bearing out. I wonder if it wouldn't work the same way with the SHO engine. Has someone ever tried this?
