[Shotimes] Tranny flush

One thing about the ATX SHO's - It's easy to change the fluid yourself!
Disconnect the input line to the tranny cooler up front (probably on the
drivers side; though mine was on the passenger for some reason), and point
it to a pan or jug. I use a gallon jug so I know how much fluid comes out.
Once you've drained a gallon, button her back up and dump a gallon of new
fluid down the dipstick tube.

I use SuperTech ATF (might switch to synthetic after a rebuild, not sure),
so changing a gallon of ATF every oil change only adds 10 minutes and about
$5 to the oil change.

Another tip I'm going to try: Once you've drained that gallon or so of
fluid out of the tranny, the pan should be pretty much empty. This would be
a GREAT time to drop the pan and change your filter if you are so inclined.

Hope this helps. :)

Subject: [Shotimes] Tranny flush

Any thoughts on getting a '93 ATX POWER flushed, with 130,000+ miles on it??
It has had the pan dropped and a new tranny filter placed a couple of times,
but nothing recently. Am I living on borrowed time with the original tranny,
and should I just let life take its course on the tranny?? I thought I had
heard not to flush the tranny once it got a certain mileage/age on it, cause
it will dislodge some sludge that may get caught in places it doesn't
belong???

Thanks
Bob
