[Shotimes] Re: "Lugging" with ATX

Even though I have an ATX it's been interesting following the spun-bearings
thread about keeping the "motor"s revs up. Because, when I checked yesterday
while driving to work, I only go ABOVE 2k when it's getting ready to upshift or
going faster than about 40.
Of course I hammer it from time to time, but on a normal, non-aggravated
morning cruise it just loafs along between 1.5 - 2k at surface-street speeds.
That's its normal regime when traffic is moving.
I'm also aware the torque converter soaks up some of the shock that would
otherwise hit the bearings when it's going slow and gets goosed, but am curious
if there are any other differences between ATX and MTX that explain why these
routine low rpms aren't as scary as they seem to be for all you MTX jammers.
Or whether I should be dropping the stick into "2" and just leaving it there?
(And enjoy that giant sucking sound of the gas tank imploding)
Cheers,
