Dave,

What about the gap on the crank sensor?

Subject: [Shotimes] Intermittent hard start

All,
I just had a crank seal replaced on my 95 atx. The water pump and timing
belt were replaced at the same time. Since the service the car will
occasionally "hard start"...it acts like the timing is off. It takes several
tries but eventually it will catch and run normally. The check engine light
comes on for a short time (5-10 seconds) and then clears itself. No codes
are stored during a KOEO test and no codes appear during a KOER test. I
initially thought crank position sensor but it only hard starts on occasion
and has never shut off after it starts. The other thought was a CKS as it
will cause a hard start and will not store a code. Any ideas?

            Thanks Dave
