[Shotimes] High Milers Stand up and be heard

I was at the junkyard  today and came across a black 93' SHO.  Only the 
intake manifold was  off but it was  right there being held up by the throttle 
cable. It had  like new brake pads so I helped myself.  But the sad part is , the 
SHO had  only 70k on the odometer.  Still had engine and it might of been 
ok.....,  ATx was there. The valve covers were off and two of the plug hole had 
oil in  them, but the cams and internals looked pretty clean.  Don't know what  
killed this mighty warrior,  I just hope it wasn't  the bearing  plague.
  In reading all the  ShoMembers letters,   I heard that 3.0 motors are hard 
to come  by,  They sell whole motors there for 125.00. Would it be a 
worthwhile  investment since I now own a 89' to buy this motor for parts?
  Also, I need to know just  what additive I need to help pass California 
Bar97 smog test..........Marlene  Help Please!
