[Shotimes] clutch! arrrggh!

Do you feel any imbalance in the drivetrain?

Pull up on the clutch pedal and see if you can hear any click action. 
Clutch linkage assemble (including cable) seldom goes bad.  If doesn't
help, it's time for a new clutch.  How many miles on the clutch and car?
