Ian,
I didn't take it personally, but really, I had seen them on
street and drag cars long before the import crowd started
installing coffie can exhaust and huge wings.
I have a dual pod with two dual gauges. Giving me four in
the space of two. I find that mine doesn't block my view
any at all, and they are not all that visible from outside.
Not having sat behind a 3 or 4 pod unit, I don't know how
they look from the drivers seat.
Everyone has their own likes/dislikes, and for classic cars,
the gauges down low look right. My 62 Catalina had SW
gauges cut into the dash on either side of the steering
column. Looked very factory and stealth, but you have to
admit, putting them down low like that makes them harder to
read. They are out of sight/mind for most driving purposes.
I can't ignore the ones on my A-pillar, so especially for
race duty, the A pillar is a much better location.
