You might be Right. This is what I'm hearing fom a
lot of good poeple who know their stuff. That there's
no such thing as a CAM Bearing, just the Heads on the
journals itself. That it's the CRANK or ROD
Bearing.. :(

Are Rod bearings the next most-likely thing to go?

I don't know how they determined this, I think they
only doing a guessing game at this stage. Just by
listening and such.

I'll relay the message.. I have a spare engie in my
garage. I think that's the next best thing to do.
But how much should I offer it away? how to transport
it? How many guys to take to move that thing? Just a
simply flat-bed pickup truck would do? Should I line
it?

Oh well. Poor kid over rev.ed his engine three times
in a row, hitting the rev-limitter, slipped off the
brake pedal and pressed the brake and gass pedal at
the same time. Turns out after the rev-limitter hit
three times, he developed the knock. Goes home
right-a-way, rests the car, checks the oil, and it's
almost to the little hole on the stick. What is that,
three quarts low or something?

So that's the story..

Thanks ya'll for your help and chiming in.. I'm
trying to help the poor kid.
