Alan:
I have been told the SHO uses a different filter and I have Ford part
#F5DZ-7A098-A , About $18 from Ford. But I have just used the regular Taurus
filter kit from the auto parts store with no problems? Maybe somebody knows
the difference and why it's there? I have been told it's the seal that's
different. Also watch out for the seal sticking inside the tranny from heat.
The new filter has the seal on it and if your not looking for the old one
you might try to cram another one up in the hole! I found the old seal is
stuck in there so tight that sometimes I leave it and just replace the
filter.
Note:
The Ford part does NOT come with a lower pan gasket. It's #F3DZ-7A194-A.
Expensive at about $37!!! Get this from the parts store for sure!
