Well, this is a hindsight perspective. Pintos were actually very decent
cars, and sold very well. Ford really did a good job on them, and it was a
fairly high-quality car for what it was. The gas tank fiasco spoiled that
name. They also sold a lot of Vegas, but then the rust and the bad engines
got those. Edsels weren't better or worse than any other Ford of the
day....they were just ugly and expensive.
Same with the Gremlin. A LOT of Gremlins were sold, and for the money, they
were a very decent car. You have to evaluate those vehicles from the time
period when they were offered, and also considering the other choices on the
market.
Tucker may have sold well, but no one will ever know, as business issues
kayoed it before it ever really hit the streets.

But seriously, yeah, the pinto, the edsel, and the vega went by the wayside
just because they were so absolutely shitty. The SHO was never shitty, it
just got screwed over by Ford. Although I'm sure there are small groups of
people who swear that the pinto was an awesome vehicle, too. ;)
