[Shotimes] door handle

I've been having trouble with one of my front door handles
recently.  Sonmetimes it seems like the handle is barely moving
far enough to open the door.  Inside and outside.  On a couple
occasions it wouldn't.  I had to get in from the passengers side
to get it open.  Now the lock button won't go down, even if try
to push it down manually.  And on the outside, the handle isn't
going back to where it's supposed to be all the way.

I realize I'm going to have to open it up to take a look, but has
anybody experienced this before?  Should I be looking for a
new door handle?  Does it just need to be lubed up?
