I found the instructions I (stole and) posted to the SHO Fourm a long
time ago. My switch has been lit ever since ;^)
-----
The fog light switch of Gen II SHO's has two mini light bulbs in it. One
lights up the lettering, and the second illuminates the orange bar that
indicates when the fog lights are on.
If one of the above do not light up, it is easy to correct the problem.
1. Go to Radio Shack and purchase one pack of part #272-1092C (#7219 Micro
Lamps 12V 60mA). Two bulbs per pack, $1.49.
2. Remove the fog light switch from the dash by using two small
screwdrivers to gently pry from the top and bottom of the assembly (where
the black plastic meets the dash).
3. Disconnect the switch from the harness via the retaining clip.
4. The left side of the switch has two plastic pieces on it. The blue one
contains the bulb for the lettering, and the white one is for the orange
indicator. Rotate the respective piece for the burnt out bulb
counterclockwise until it stops, then use a tiny flathead to gently pry it out.
5. Remove the light bulb from the plastic seat by straightening the wires
holding it in. Note how the wires are wrapped around the sides where
contact is made. The blue lightbulb (top one, for the lettering) has a
rubber cover on it, if replacing this bulb remove the cover and slide it on
the newly purchased bulb.
6. Trim the new bulb to about 1" of wire. Slide the bulb in and wrap the
wires as the dead bulb was done.
7. Repeat procedures above backwards for assembly.
8. Enjoy your lit switch!
