I am also involved in the Buick GN hobby and a few
weeks ago Full Throttle did a show on GNs that we all
buzzed about. I tuned in and what a load of crap.
The cars had all the craftsmanship of a backyard hack.
The one car quit halfway down the track on the 2d
pass. It was bad. Neither car ran right or what a
decent turbo Buick can run. The parts they use on the
show are donated by sponsors. The Buick sponsors were
ticked off as they saw their parts being installed but
received a 1/2 second promo in the closing credits
that they really had to search for. They will not
donate again. As far as the AMC episode goes I wanted
to catch it (love AMCs too) but the date we were told
was for this week and it aired last week. Oh well.
American Hot Rodder Boyd's show is a soap opera around
cars. I lost all respect for Boyd Coddington when he
started his wheel company with OPM (other people's
money) went bankrupt walked away scot free (everybody
else lost big time) now he has a new shop and is
making wheels again. Best shows out there are Two
Guys Garage (Speed Channel Sat 7:30) and Friday nights
on DIY with Backyard Mechanic at 8pm and then 2
episodes of Classic Car Restoration. They just
finished up a great series on an 1938 Packard. The
host was knowledgeable and did a great job of showing
what can be done in an owner's garage. They are now
doing a 1962 Thunderbird Sports Roadster. This is a
repeat and upcoming episodes will detail paint
restoration and chip touch up. It is the best episode
of the series. Should air sometime late in Dec or
early January. Check DIY.com for info.
