Well Ron, to us here in the rest of the real world, 
(the world that pays the bills for those parts of the 
country that live off farm subsidies and congressional 
pork) the whole 'sh*t salesman with a mouthful of samples' 
sounding way of speaking isn't all that compelling either. 
But really, what's the difference between New Yawk and 
y'all anyway? A wad of Bazooka vs; wad of Red-Man? 
Gimme a freakin' break.

BTW, I don't recall casting any dispersions on 'flyover' country. 
Why rank on my home? Did I say anything about Michigan? 
(or that instantly recognizable midwestern accent) 

I didn't start this crap fest, I just took offense to an imbicile who 
made a juvenile and insulting generalization against my home area 
and those of us who live here. WTF does someone's accent have to 
do with their character? Are Y'ALL so small-minded that you're 
freaked out by anyone who doesn't sound, look or act like you? 

This thing didn't involve you, but thanks for your $.02, tells me 
a lot about you.

OK...If they were from St. Louis, they would still be morons.

BUT....they are from NYC. And frankly, Bob, the New York accent is not a
positive thing for the rest of the 250+ million people who live west of the
Hudson.

Living put here in "flyover country", I would say that the disdain/prejudice
that people used to have for Southern accents is now more prevalent against
NY accents.
