[Shotimes] ceramic brake pads?

I had a local repair shop with an owner I trust (racer,
mechanic) recommend Akebono pads for the 540 that I was
going to put on a few track days events. These pads hardly
make any dust, the wheels were almost perfectly clean after
two hard track days in a row.
Wear was almost non-existant too. They are a ceramic pad
that the Tire Rack does NOT recommend for track days, but I
have used them for three events now and they perform
beautifully, and a close inspection reveals no ill effects
in the pads or disks.
I think Akebono makes a pad for the '96 style stock brakes,
if so, I think they would be great for track/street use.
