Yeah, having spent my whole life there until moving to DC in '97 I'll  second 
that emotion.  Although the Hawaiian sun does play a prominent  role in that 
other phenomenon as well. ;-)
 
Since gas was over $2.50 a gallon last time I was there, maybe Bruddah  
George is just trying to save his thrifty devotees a beer can or three full  of 
gas, with his hard-tire and mothball-in-the-tank suggestions.  Any  savings can 
be applied towards a little more of that Hawaiian sunshine.
