True, but a failing crank sensor often does not leave a code.  So, I
guess what I'm saying is even if he has no codes, the CPS is still a
very likely suspect.

It would be a lot easier if he pulled the codes.  This is the second
time I'm suggesting this.

Vlad, I know you said you don't many tools, but surely you can locate a
paper-clip.  The procedure is found on www.shotimes.com.  On-board
diagnostics are one of the many good things on this car.  Use it!
