Actually, when I said "they're still learning", I was referring to Ford and
their inability to produce a FWD ATX as solid as their RWD units of yore.
As you pointed out, the trannies from the "good ol' days" were much better
than the FWD units we're stuck with now.  Thank goodness for things like
TransGo kits, aftermarket parts and knowledgeable tranny rebuilders.  :)

No. The C4 & C6 were great......as were the bulk of the Big 3s RWD trannies
(727 TF, 350 & 400 TH, etc).

They all have fallen off the cliff in FWD trannies. Only exception seems to
be the big FWD ATX in the STS and similar GM cars.....but as I understand
it is a BIG and heavy SOB.
