Paul,

You got 10 good years out of your JBL system.  Unfortunately, the circuit
board has MANY electrolytic capacitors that have a ~10 year service life.
At this point they start to leak their acid and eat away at circuit traces,
then the stereo begins doing weird things.  Start shopping for a new stereo
system.  Btw, a used replacement unit from another SHO will suffer the same
malady if it hasn't already.
