only problem with a putting a vinyl strip over the one already painted on,
is about 2 months after you put it on, it will start to peel off, as was the
problem with my brothers 92 Explorer. He has replaced that vinyl stripe 3
times, and has begun to peel off within 2 months everytime. So i would go
with either having it repainted on, or just simply removing it.
