Peoria, IL this morning -3 with chill factor of -20

Also forgot to reset the humidifier for the colder weather
and woke up this morning to dew on all the windows...DOH!

Still won't compare to the halftime show I marched as a
Marching Saluki (Southern IL university) one January in
Green Bay WI for the packers. Actual temp about 15 below,
wind chill -40 or worse.

SIU Chem dept worked up some super lube that wasn't supposed
to ever freeze for the valves on trumpets, horns etc, and
slides on trombones. EVERY horn froze solid when we emerged
from the hockey rink where we "warmed up" before pre-game.

Everyone spent the first half huddled around cig. lighters
in the bathrooms (smelled horrible, and not because of us!)
Did the halftime, still have it on audio tape, back then
(1969) they broadcast most of the halftime instead of making
us listen to overpaid jocks and talking heads go over every
detail of what we had just watched! It is a shame that
college games broadcast never show the band (or for 10
seconds if at all) anymore. Those kids deserve a little air
time as much as the jocks. At least we still get the
obligatory crotch shot of the cheerleaders about every 5
minutes! :)

May move to San Francisco sooner than July if this continues!
