Shylo, Don gave you advice about checking your mirrors more often. I'll
mention to not put your faith entirely in a radar detector. Troopers and
even city police have an easy way of defeating them by using "instant on"
mode. The worst situation for this is if you're driving without any cars
near you. It's extremely easy to get painted as you come around a turn or
over a hill. The last time this happened to me was in western Mass. They
like to put a stationary setup where one guy will detect your speed and then
they'll radio ahead to other officers that will pull over the offenders. In
this situation, the radar detector's only use is to let you know you've been
nailed.
