Aren't all the CVN's Nimitz class now (minus Enterprise, which is it's
own class)?

One little point on the Nimitz class carriers that was left out is that
the Nimitz was commissioned CVAN (that is, nuclear attack carrier) and
was changed to CVN (All purpose carrier) six weeks after commissioning.
How do I know? I am a Plankowner on the Nimitz. For those of you
uninitiated in Naval terminology, I am one of the original commissioning
crew on that day, May 3rd, 1975, when President Gerald R. Ford delivered
the commissioning address at Pier 12, Naval Station, Norfolk, VA.
