[Shotimes] Blue Oval News = bad press citizen

I pretty much quit reading BON. Most of the forums are nothing but childish bickering, and the "news" isn't any better/earlier than I read in Autoweek.

He's been selling them like that for several years. Not sure how he keeps getting away with it.

Just had to mention that I detest the policy of the Blue
Oval News web site, selling press kits for profit on their
web site.

Among the media, it is considered VERY bad form to take free
stuff intended for use by media for promotion purposes, and
SELL it.

Let alone grab as many kits as you can haul off and sell
them in quantity. One or two occasionally wind up on E-bay,
and those people get ostracized for their behavior.

How does BON get away with it?

I have lots of kits I have saved up, but I have never sold
one. Some times they wind up at the convention, to be
auctioned off for the Red Cross or as a door prize, but that
is 100% OK. I also pick up a few kits for friends of mine
that might enjoy them, but I don't grab more than one off
the shelf.

A few years ago, I could show up at the Chicago Auto Show a
few hours late and still find the good press kits. But no
more. Now if I am not there first thing in the morning the
desireable kits with neat things are all gone, now I know
why! Outfits like this are why most presentations now hand
out their press kits AT the presentation instead of in the
press room, thus making everyone's job a little harder.

$25 bucks or more for free stuff they take in quantity, thus
harming the manufacturer's press efforts? $249 for stuff
signed by Shelby?

Oh well.
