You can bet that if you do all that work and don't replace the water pump, it will start leaking within a month.
Yes, all water pumps eventually leak. The rubber seal is all that keeps the water where it belongs, and the rubber seal wears with age. The bearings also wear and once the shaft gets a bit loose it wears the seal even faster. My first water pump made it 70k miles. The first replacement lasted 50k. The second replacement has about 35k on it now.
I replaced my timing belt at 70k (I was 10k late), but none of the other associated parts because they weren't a part of the 60k service. A month later the crank sensor went out, on Thanksgiving day. I replaced it but on short notice I could not get a water pump so didn't replace it. A month after that the water pump started leaking so I had to replace it. When I did the 120k I just replaced it all at the same time.
