I don't think anyone has a chance to grunt or much else after taking one of these to the noggin'

My last comment on this is, serves them right. I don't necessarily have to agree with everything we are doing over there but I do definitely support our troops and their need to protect themselves.

The gun on the chin of the helicopter makes the noise, not the rounds flying
thru the air. I have been shot at MANY times. My father used to be a
police officer and he would take me to the outdoor range when he needed to
qualify. My 'job' was to change the target for him. I would be in a trench
50 yds away and I had to raise and lower the targets. My father had 2 guns,
a 9mm and a .38 police revolver. I could hear him fire the gun but I never
heard the rounds pierce the paper target or "buzz" over my head. Hollywood
has you thinking otherwise.

The 9mm equates to .35cal rounds and the .38cal equates to 9.7mm rounds.
The Apache has a 30mm gun which equates to 1.18cal. Maybe larger rounds
make noise as they zip thru the air, I don't know, I've never been fired at
with a 30mm gun.

In this video, the helicopter is prolly a few hundred yards away. Yeah, the
Iraqis on the ground prolly hear gun being fired and they hear the sound of
the helicopter, but they are in a war zone, so they hear those noises all
day long.

It also appears to be nightime, hence the NVG view. The first guy that gets
shot is out in the open. As the "silent" rounds strike his body (and the
ground) he is killed instantly. Maybe he let out a last grunt or gasp as
the 1" rounds ripped his body to shreds, but I doubt it.

The second guy that get's it is standing by an artillery piece or something.
He is totally unaware of his buddy's predicament because he can't see him
(it's dark) and they didn't hear anything. The artillery piece also shields
him from any flying debris while the 1st guy is being shot.

The third guy appears to double over as he is hit by flying debris while the
1st guy is being shot. This alerts him to the attack and he dives for cover
under the truck.
