Shovel, we don't need no steeking shovel!
The sad thing is that with 5 guys, and optionally a
6th to drive, they could have picked up the rear of
the car and set it on the pavement. I learned this
from a Wisconsinite while we were out snowbank-bashing
in his $100 station wagon. Snowbank-bashing is the
art of doing a 4 wheel drift broadside into the bank
at the edge of the road. If you hit the snowbank hard
enough with the rear end, the car can fly up and on
top of the snowbank, even if said snowbank is 4 ft of
hardpacked snow. We ended up in almost exactly the
same orientation as these guys did, picked the car up
one end at a time and put it back on the road. And
that car could seat 6 "adults" comfortably.
