Don't know for sure...plenty of experts here (not me!)...but when my '69 Country
Squire with C-6 (I think) started to do that, it was time to go in for a new one.
That had something to do with a piston that moves back and forth according to engine
load, and determined the shift time. Seems like Taurus ATXs crack that piston,
since it is aluminum, rather than something harder.
