Perhaps of interest, my 91 Audi 200 20v has 15 inch wheels with 12 inch
front rotors, how'd they do that one may ask.........inboard calipers. UFO rotors
they're called, because of the support part of the rotor [they look like
flying saucers], a new rotor runs about $300 and they're prone to warp. They did
this for a year only on the 91 200 20v and the 200 V8, figured out it wasn'
the best idea. The rational behind it, supposedly, was to allow a higher
profile tire for ride comfort [60 series], decrease unsprung wieght with the
smaller wheel and still have a 12 inch front rotor. My brakes are about 10k old
and are very, very good! There is an fix, comparable to our 96 upgrade,
involving changing hub, etc. called the G60. However, it decreases front rotor dia
to 10.5...but, that can be improved with aftermarket wheels and Porsche
brakes...... so, belly up to the bar boy, what'll you be drink'n tonight,
something SHO or will you be have'n an Audi or a bit of both?
