I have Koni's and Eibachs on my '89 and the ride is great. 
Handling is adjustable for autox or street or road course. 
Nice combination.

Maybe it is your tires you are feeling, or if you have all 
solid subframe bushings and other solid bushings throughout, 
you have taken all the compliance from the car?
