Out of curiosity, can the bearings be replaced from the bottom, with the
engine in the car?? And how many miles did the engine have on it??

  If you drove it more than 20-30 seconds with the red oil light on, the rod
  bearings, the main bearings and/or the crankshaft are toasted.
  New engine needed, no options.
  The noise you hear is a spun rod bearing.
  So sorry.
