[Shotimes] Overheating / Fan issues

Can you spin the fan blade by hand? Is there a blown fuse in that box under
the hood near the firewall and left fender?
I had the fan motor sieze up on me, causing the same eymptoms you mention,
and it blew the fuse. I was able to find a replacement motor at AutoZone for
around $70. Be sure to take the old motor with you to match it. The counter
guy was able to find what looked like the same motor (Siemens) but with a
diffferent connector. I had to splice in the old connector.
BTW: I also called the Ford dealer. The parts guy said that motor wasn't
available alone. I'd have to "upgrade" to the new setup: dual fans and new
shroud. "Only" $700 or so!!!
