[Shotimes] Subframe Recall total BS

Dave,

I JUST had the subframe recall done less than two weeks ago.
I had been getting letters from Ford for years. Though
the last one was in 2002.

I took it to Mike Mangold Ford in Eureka IL (college home of
President Ronald Regan) and they did the recall for free.

So maybe it depends on your dealer taking the time to do it
right rather than just wanting to make a profit? I doubt
VERY much if my dealer ate the cost, and I had told them I
wasn't sure if the recall was still valid. So they had
every chance to screw me.

Anyone in the Illinois area, take note: Mike Mangold in
Eureka, IL. They have treated me and many other SHO owners
right over the years. They know me and I keep them honest
about the SHO.

So the recall IS still valid, it has also been screwed up by
many dealers, one of those BAD dealers being Mike Murphy
Ford in Morton IL. They messed up my son's car and wound up
calling him and me both slanderous names. I asked for a
public apology after they finally admited they made a
mistake (Ken and I had already fixed the thing they screwed
up, so they were off the hook for money) but they weren't
man enough (dealer or service manager, both lacking the
essential tools to be called men)to even do that.

Over the years, I have done business with the dealer in
Eureka and steered a LOT of business their way. On the
other side, I KNOW I have cost the Morton dealership over
two dozen sales over the years and I am just getting started.

I never forget those that do right, or wrong!

Made a little run to the 24 hour Ford dealer 120Miles round trip to pick up a recall kit and get it back together.Had the wife order a set of ALSFB's from Bryan King while I was gone. I pulled the carpet and absober up to mark and drill my 2 1/2 inch holes and I'll be damned if the recall had not already been done. Easy for me that was sure. Well the dealer did one hole then I guess ran ouf of hole saw and just cut a flap in the otherside.
> While talking to my local Ford dealer who was horrified that the sub had dropped he did a VIN look up and told me the dealer that did the work.(remind me to firebomb them) then proceeded to tell me that Ford Recalls are based on age. So 89-92 no longer get the free labor after you buy the parts. But they will do it for 100.00.
> Now a few side notes. Russ Milne Ford in Clinton Township MI has the police subframe bushings in stock at 24 for the bottom and 15 for the top. And Expressway Ford in Clio is SHO friendly but still hates them.
> And the parts guy at Russ Milne told me the price of V8 was 12K to purchase plus the labor. as to prohibit owners from having the engines replaced when "the timing gears walk off the shaft" his words not mine.
> And if anyone on the V8 list is reading this I was headed down M-59 west last night about 9.40 and was next to a beautiful red GEN III Dark Tinted windows and a FORD decal on the rear window. Nice car.
