Congrats! I haven't driven an STi but the base WRX that I test drove put a
grin on my face for several days.

I've had a perma-grin since Thursday evening, when I took possession of
my new object of infatuation. A silver '05 Subaru WRX STi. It had a
whole 12 miles on it when I started, and is now sitting at almost 600,
if that's any indication of what a blast this thing is to drive. I guess
that's what 300 hp, 300 ft/lbs, 6 speed manual and all wheel drive will
do for you.

It was a very hard decision to make, but what clinched it was not being
able to resolve the phantom ignition mystery myself, and the realization
that my SHO is worth the most in pieces. So once I get the Mustang out
of the garage, the SHO will come in and be stripped down (unless anyone
is interested in it as it sits, that is). It's a silver / black 92, 211a
package, with pretty much every bolt on short of a blower. I'll post a
complete list of the parts once they're ready and offer them to my local
buddies first, then the listservs, then put the rest on eBay. So, watch
this space! If you're interested in a specific part, e-mail me at
jschick@aafp.org.

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone I've "met" since joining
the original SHOTimes list in 1998. I regret never making it to a
convention, but I still feel like I know many of you on a first name
basis. Your help over the years has been invaluable. I still plan to
lurk on both lists (autox and tech) and offer advice if and when I can.

Best regards and happy SHOing!
