[Shotimes] 91 overheats in traffic

My 94 never had overheating problems, but when I pulled the rad to re-crimp
the ends I found a layer of dust and stuff that almost looked like a fine
fur impeading the airflow before the radiator. Cleaned it out with a hose
and it ran a lot cooler all the time. Perhaps there is something in there
impeading the airflow thru the rad even with the fan running.

Subject: [Shotimes] 91 overheats in traffic
My 91 overheats (or comes close) when driven in stop-and-go traffic. I've
confirmed it's full of coolant, burped the system, and the fan comes on
during a KOEO test. Even when I put the EATC in Max AC (which is supposed
to turn on the radiator fan), temp goes up when sitting still.
This SHO has 150K, new radiator and ECT a year ago, new water pump and hoses
three years (about 30K) ago. Recently flushed. The radiator fan is a used
unit, but it runs during KOEO. All in all, the cooling system should be
sound.
This car has a Ted Breaux chip and 73mm MAF. When the engine isn't
overheating, it runs like snot. I just mention this because the LPM can
choose a fan-on temp.
