[Shotimes] SHO cranking but not starting

Wow does this bring back bad memories. I once owned a Plymouth Voyager with
the Mitsu 2.6L engine. We were on a trip down to Long Island down the
Taconic, a very pretty scenic and hilly road. On one of the uphill climbs,
all of a sudden no power but the engine is still running. Pull off to the
side of the road, turn off the engine. Then try to restart it and got that
aweful whirring sound. Had my wife and two small children. Had to get the
van and us towed. Eventually got a mechanic to open up the engine to find
that the flywheel had sheared in a circular pattern just outside where the
bolts connect the flywheel to the crankshaft. I kept that flywheel for
years to remind what a major POS that Plymouth was.

Having seen the SHO flywheel many times, I find it hard to think that tank
of a part could break, but I suppose anything is possible.
