Or possibly the timing belt has slipped......doubtful but could happen.

I've only seen it happen on a supercharged SHO though.

Pull the upper bolts on teh timing belt cover and check that the belt isn't
broken.
This is exactly what the '93 I recently sold was doing...it was a broken
timing belt.
