I replaced the windshield in my 94 ATX. I had a used one, but couldn't get the weatherstripping that goes around it. That comes with the new windshield, which I got for $187 installed through a local glass company. The technician took the mirror off the old windshield and glued it onto the new one. He also changed the stickers from one to the other. This, too was not an insurance job. Dave
ps I did find a place to get the weatherstripping later, but it would have been $125.00 for just that alone.

94 needs a windshield, it's cracked. Came this way from PO; insurance is
not going to be involved. Questions:

-- Local glass shops don't want to install a used windshield. Is it even
worth thinking about doing it myself?

-- When I call local shops to ask about them installing new glass, I should
tell them it's not an insurance job, yes? Any other tips?

-- Do new windshields normally come with the metal attached where the
rearview mirror mounts?
