Except both are spelled differently (Lexus vs. lexis and Infiniti vs.
infinity).  Infiniti I can buy as a car brand name since it evokes the idea
of no boundaries or limits.  On the other hand, lexis is defined as the
total set of words in a language (i.e. vocabulary).  I'm not quite sure how
that relates to high priced Japanese automobiles.  There is the word
"luxus" which does relate to luxury or extravagance so that could be the
derivation of the name.

Yeah.  Lexus and Infitity are real words though.  Acura is not.
