It's true.  I'm absolutely amazed at how easily the problem was fixed
with the correct diagnosis.  If only I'd come here first, a long time
ago...

In looking for the part, I saw a used one on ebay for $50, and new
aftermarket ones of various brands for huge price differences.  $115,
$175, $220, $333.  I'm not certain of it, but I'd bet that the last
price was for an actual Motorcraft part.  I have no idea why their is
such a big range on the others, though.

The one I bought came from Checker.
