Use Dupont white polishing compound. It will easily take the relatively new paint
off the wheel without disturbing the baked on clearcoat. Then you wax the wheel
after the overspray is gone and there is a semiglossy surface. You'll get your nice
glossy finish back just fine.
That's what I do to get overspray off anything where the masking tape and paper
didn't quite seal off an retouched area near a repair.
This stuff will do a good job of bringing back the gloss on a surface where the
paint is good, but very oxidized.
