You can simply disconnect the wiring to the DPFEGR sensor or disconnect the
vacuum line from the EGR valve to disable it. You can get a chip to
eliminated the code you will get. The EGR is only for NOx emissions. It
dumps exhaust gas into the intake and because the gas is inert will limit
the combustion temps. At high combustion temps the nitrogen in the air is
fixed with oxygen, this forms the NOx pollutant. It will form nitric acid
and is the main component in brown smog.
