 Bad starter relay. Maybe when you tried it with the bad starter it burned
it up? Have you checked the relay again? Does your column ignition switch
have a lot of slop? Maybe it's still making a connection? Usually the key
switch will have other symptoms like the key buzzer staying on. Sounds like
that or maybe the new starter has a problem? If you don't find anything I
would get the starter bench tested again.
