[Shotimes] EGR valve?

I can only reference my experience with OBDII. I have the EGR disabled on
my '97 and run 87 octane that is usually 10% ethanol. At the chip
programming dyno last summer after driving 3 hours in 85F temps and doing
three dyno runs there was a bit of timing retard at 6000 rpm on the third
run due to the knock sensor hearing some pinging.
