Don...

I finally got hold of someone at the local station who could steer me right.

I have the address of the Tonight Show in LA to send this request. I called them
and ws told that we still have plenty of time to get this in to them....this is what
I came up with yesterday at work.....

"Dear Mr. Leno...

"We are a nationwide group of car enthusiasts who focus our attention on the Taurus
SHO. There has been a SHO owner's club in one form or another since the early
1990's. We have some very knowledgable folks in our club, and over time we have
collected and shared more information about this car than Ford probably ever
imagined. Most of our cars have well over 100,000 miles on them, yet the vast
majority of them are in far better condition than they were even when new.

"We get together every summer at a convention held in various parts of the country.
This year, for the first time, we are holding the convention in California, from
July 12 to the 15th, based in Vallejo. We'll have tours of San Francisco and the
Napa Valley, along with car events like a Concours Car SHOw and a day on the
racetrack at Thunderhill Raceway, in the northern part of the Sacramento Valley.

"The final event of the convention, on Thursday night, is always a banquet we have
for our group dinner, awards ceremony, Red Cross auction, and guest speaker. We'd
like you to be our guest speaker this year, both because of who you are, and because
you are a car nut, like us.....particularly like us, because you have a SHOgun. It
would be absolutely phenomenal if you would honor us with your presence that evening
as our guest speaker. We'd love to have you join us for dinner, and could also put
you up at the hotel if you'd like. We're going to be at the Holiday Inn on the east
side of town, near Marineworld.

"Hopefully you will be able to join us, and we promise to be ten times as
appreciative of your talents as the best Tonight Show audiences you get down in
Hollywood.

"Sincerely and Hopefully....

...I was also going to mention that I have been a fan way back since the '70s when
Jay used to appear all the time on the "Dean Martin Comedy Hour", but thinking back
I can't absolutely confirm that's where I saw him...I know he was on something like
that all the time, and was just as funny then...but I don't want to shoot myself in
the foot..! ;-)

...so..what do you think?
